What are we doing here anyway? I like to think, and I truly believe, that we are all moving in a positive direction. Its a slow collective movement towards equanimity and peace. It often doesn’t seem like it when I look a the news and see the challenges we face in all areas of life.
What can be done? Here’s where things get really interesting to me. Now that we have the internet, we have so much information at our fingertips (no pun intended)! What was previously unknown to us is now discoverable. We can read, basically for free, a very wide range of an assortment of spiritual texts, news we wouldn’t otherwise see, other peoples opinions we would never otherwise be exposed to. It’s a wonderful thing!
When we take the cover off of something that’s been hidden, we shed light on it and then we see it for what it actually is. We see the truth of the matter. There is a term in Hindu, that describes this so well and I wanted to share it with you. The term is “Guru”, a literal transition is “dark/light”, or “dark/desctruction”. I love this translation. Usually we associate the term with a specific person, but ultimately it refers simply to darkness being replaced with light. Whatever was there is still there, we can simply see it more clearly. We can see the truth of “what is” when the light is shed on it.
Another important concept to remember is that underneath (although it may be deep) all of these layers – where the truth is – is love. The whole universe runs on love. We’ve been living in intellectual darkness for so long that this truth has been essentially lost to us. Concepts such as “survival of the fittest” took hold, and has shaped our world. So sad, until that cover is taken off and the reality of life can be more clearly seen. We are seeking balance, and we will find it as that cover is taken off and we can see ourselves more clearly.
So what does Sound Healing have to do with this? Sound, esoterically (i.e. mystical understanding), is unchanged “information” from the spirit world, and in esoteric thought, the spirit world is actually more real, more true than this physical earth that we live on! That means, that sound is full of truth, which acts on our psyche and our body. The vibration, especially when used for healing, acts on the energetic emotional/physical body to clear discordant energy. You can think of the discordant energy as the “covering” and the sound as the “light” that takes away the covering. Once the energy is smoothed, a person can “see” aspects of his or her life more clearly. There is clarity, a sense of peace, a sense of direction after a sound healing session.
